Hide-The overall aim of this course is to introduce the learner to the area of sociology and social studies. This course will provide the learner with the opportunity to develop their understanding and awareness in the area of Applied Social Studies. Successful students can progress to further or higher education or gain employment in the social care sector. The course features an opportunity to gain experience in a voluntary capacity in a variety of organisations. The course includes educational field trips, off-campus research, guest speakers and practical team working projects for experience based learning.

All applicants' suitability is assessed on the merit of their application forms and by the means of a ten to fifteen minute interview. Interviews will take place in May and September depending on when you apply. All late applicants should check with the College Main Office as quite frequently, we have places still available on some courses in September. This module aims to introduce learners to the area of sociology and social studies and to develop their understanding and awareness of social issues in their own lives and society in general.
Intercultural Studies 5N0765
This module equips the learner with the knowledge, skill and competence to explore, reflect and analyse intercultural studies. These could include issues such as diversity, racism, prejudice, conflict, equality and interdependence.
