Alternative Entry Mature students are very welcome on all courses in O'Fiaich Institute of further Education and the number of mature students is rising steadily. Some mature students are eligible for VTOS scheme (Vocational Training Opportunities Scheme).

Entry Requirements This course is aimed at students who have completed the Leaving Certificate, Leaving Certificate Applied, Leaving Certificate Vocational and mature students.
Careers or Further Progression Career Opportunities & Progression Routes
Graduates will have employment opportunities in the community, nursing homes, childcare or entry to An Garda Siochana. Students may also progress to third level courses in Psychology, Social Studies, Youth Work, Humanities, Counselling, or as a Mature Student into Psychiatric Nursing or Teaching. They may also progress to the Early Childhood Care and Education Level 6 course in Ó Fiaich Institute.
