Hide-This course is designed for students with an interest in all aspects of creative writing. Students will read a wide range of literature appropriate to all modules on offer and there are numerous opportunities to attend theatre productions, films, media events and other cultural events throughout the year.
This course provides an extensive introduction to a wide range of creative writing, media, literature and culture. Participants will produce writing for fiction, for scripts (theatre, television, radio, film) and for journalism. They will examine characterisation, structure, plot, setting, language as well as develop sills in editing and presentation. They will develop skills of analysis in response to media, literature, and cultural issues, as well as learning practical skills of desktop publishing and word processing.
Participants will also have the opportunity to have their work performed and recorded by actors, to have work published, either in the college magazine that students produce while on the course or by submitting it to external publications and competitions.
On completion, each student will have a portfolio of their written work and acquired relevant skills appropriate to further study and employment.

Hide-Course fees range from €300 to €400 depending on the course. The fees cover costs of examination entry and certification fees as well as any course materials and personal equipment to students. The fees also cover a range of other services and activities provided for, or engaged in, by the students such as some trips, cultural and sporting events, accident insurance policy fee and student services fund fee. in addition to this, the Government levy of €200 will also apply for those applicants who do not hold a medical care.
Enrolment Deposit
Students who accept the offer of a place on a course must pay a non-refundable deposit of €50. The balance of the fee must be paid on commencement of each academic year.
External Examination Fees
Students who choose to enter for examinations other than those set by QQI and/or BTEC must pay the appropriate exam fees to the relevant examining authority.

Applications are welcome from 1st December of the year preceding the course start year.
Interviews are then held at regular intervals from the following March onwards. First round of interviews will take place during March/April. Second round interviews will take place in mid-May. Late applications will be interviewed when the Leaving Certificate Examinations are finished or in early September.

| Entry Requirements |
Applicants should have a minimum of five subjects at leaving certificate, including a D3 at Higher level English or C3 at Ordinary Level.
Mature students without formal qualifications but who have a proven interest are encouraged to apply also.
All students will be interviewed and will be asked to produce some examples of their written work and ideally, this should include examples of essays, story writing, scripts and journalism. |

English, Literature, Film Studies, Liberal Arts, Theatre Studies, Journalism, Media Production, Creative Writing, Humanities, Music Production and Multimedia.
