Course Fee In general, there are two levels of fees payable. EU students from EU countries including Ireland pay a subsidised level of fees for both taught courses and research programmes. Tuition fees for students from outside the EU are not subsidised and are thus somewhat higher than for EU students.

Entry Requirements Normally a first-class honours BSc result in computer science
or a closely-related discipline. For international students
whose first language is not English, an English language
exam certificate showing IELTS 6.5 (or equivalent) is required.
Prospective applicants are encouraged to contact members
of staff to discuss their projected area of research.
Course Content The aim of the research degree in computer science is to provide the student with an opportunity to carry out a significant body of research work with the support and supervision of senior academic researchers.
Research Areas Research strengths include geocomputation, computer vision, optical processing, dependable software systems, computational cognitive modelling, and software engineering.
