Hide-This course is aimed at learners who have completed QQI level 5 in Early Years Care and Education or equivalent and want to extend their learning and experience to prepare them to be supervisors in early years settings.
The very experienced team of teachers who deliver these modules pride themselves on offering a very student- centred approach to the teaching methods used. The success of our students is central to the course.
We strongly encourage students to advise us of their particular learning needs and any personal circumstances which impact on their life in the College. The completion of these modules is key to the students success but we feel we offer other “value added” experiences in the College e.g. European Project (see European Work Experience). The students have the opportunity to experience learning through visits to centres of excellence in specific areas, addition workshops provided in college, manual handling training, sign language course.

Work Experience Placements
Work Experience Placements forms a vital part of this course. Learners will have the opportunity to attend a work placement in an early years setting one day per week and also have three weeks block placements during the year.
European Project (ERASMUS+)
Every year a number of students have the opportunity to travel to another European country for three weeks work experience. The students attend an early years setting in the host country and observe and participate in the day to day work of the setting, learning about how they deliver professional child care and education.
