The first year of the Complementary Medicine course aims to provide a foundation in areas such as Full Body Massage and Onsite Massage. Three types of certification are on offer; FETAC level 5 certificate, ITEC diploma and Certificate in Tuina Acupressure.
The Certificate in Tuina is awarded by Active Health who are affiliated with Beijing University of Chinese Medicine, the World Health Organisation’s representative for traditional medicines. Click here for the Active Health web site. |

An interest in Holistic Health with suitable educational background. Interview with the course coordinators. There may be a written aptitude test.
Certification/portfolio/references/evidence of relevant experience will be taken into account. Biology is not essential but would be an advantage. |

Progression:
Progression to year Complementary & holistic therapies 2. Graduates may seek employment in the Spa / Therapies area. Access may also be available into courses within the health care sector in third level colleges and ITs.
