It is designed to equip learners with the range of skills and knowledge to implement and deliver community development programmes that adhere to the key community development principles of empowerment, participation and collective decision making. This is the ideal starting point if you wish to progress to further studies or gain employment in a variety of community, health and educational organisations.
This course is designed to
Enable students explore the theory and practice of the key areas of community development by addressing a wide range of community and social issues.
Enable students evaluate the need for community development in society and develop an understanding of community organisations and voluntary sectors.
To enable the learner to acquire the knowledge, skill and competence to work as an autonomous practitioner and or take responsibility for the work of others in leading and coordinating the provision of quality community development.
