Programme Overview
This programme is ideal for any aspiring journalist. Learners will be prepared to enter the journalistic world and will gain essential news gathering, writing and reporting skills. This 1 year, full-time programme will include an introduction to legal, ethical and political issues connected with news and current affairs journalism. |

| Course Fee |
There are no tuition fees payable to the College by EU nationals. However, learners are liable for registration fees, examination fees, and for some courses, materials fees. Registration fees vary depending on programme choice. Applicants will be informed of individual programme fees and possible exemptions at interview. |
| Financial Support |
Means-tested Maintenance Grants are available to qualifying learners. These grants are administered by Learner Universal Support Ireland (SUSI) through www.Learnerfinance.ie. All applications must be made on-line. The College has a Grants Officer, who will advise applicants, as necessary. |

Interviews will be held in May and places will be offered at that stage. Interviews will also be held in late August to fill anyremaining places. Therefore, early application is advisable. |

• Applicants must have Leaving Certificate, LCA or equivalent.
• Holders of a QQI Level 4 Award are also eligible to apply.
• Mature learners (over 23) may be exempt from the above academic requirements.
• In addition applicants will have to undertake an interview. |
