Course Content This two year full-time course is designed to provide students with the techniques and knowledge required to gain a recognised qualification in hairdressing allowing them to compete for employment in a salon environment.

Year 2
This is a one year course which includes 3 days in college and 2 days work placement. The aim is to develop and expand the skills acquired in year 1, with a strong emphasis on all aspects of practical skill.

Students who successfully complete Year One will be awarded a Junior Trades Certificate and a QQI level 5 certificate in Hairdressing (5M3351).
Students who successfully complete Year Two will be awarded a Senior Trades Certificate (Department of Education and Skills).

Students who successfully complete year one may opt to take up Junior positions within the Hairdressing Industry. Students opting to complete year two will gain more advanced skills before taking up positions in the Hairdressing Industry.

Year 2
Students who successfully complete this course may gain placement as a second or third year apprentice in a high profile hairdressing salon.
