This 1 year, full time programme leads to a qualification in Community and Health Services/Community Care. It is designed to provide learners with an introduction to the area of Health/Social Care, enabling them to acquire the practical and academic skills necessary for further study or immediate employment.

Course Fee There are no tuition fees payable to the College by EU nationals. However, learners are liable for registration fees, examination fees, and for some courses, materials fees. Registration fees vary depending on programme choice. Applicants will be informed of individual programme fees and possible exemptions at interview.
Financial Support Means-tested Maintenance Grants are available to qualifying learners. These grants are administered by Learner Universal Support Ireland (SUSI) through www.Learnerfinance.ie. All applications must be made on-line. The College has a Grants Officer, who will advise applicants, as necessary.
Interview Interviews will be held in May and places will be offered at that stage. Interviews will also be held in late August to fill anyremaining places. Therefore, early application is advisable.

Entry Requirements • Applicants must have Leaving Certificate, LCA or equivalent.

• Holders of a QQI Level 4 Award are also eligible to apply.

• Mature learners (over 23) may be exempt from the above academic
requirements.

• In addition applicants will have to undertake an interview.

• Award holders are qualified to work as Professional Carers in social, health and community care environments.
