You will need:
A primary or postgraduate degree in Folklore or in cognate subjects and a complete transcript of academic history including grades for each subject taken. Other qualifications may also be taken into consideration at the discretion of the Head of Subject and Head of School.
Names and contact details of two referees who can assess your intellectual ability, maturity and motivation.
Other documentation as required by the University.
A basic reading knowledge of the Irish language is strongly recommended for Graduate Diploma students. This can be acquired concurrently with the student’s Graduate Diploma studies.
Applicants whose first language is not English and who have not completed their primary degree through English in an English speaking country will be required to have achieved an overall 7.0 in IELTS or equivalent with no individual band lower than 6.5.

The Graduate Diploma in Irish Folklore is a one-year (two semester) examined postgraduate course, designed for advanced students and scholars usually with a background in folkloristics or cognate subjects.
