Course Fee In general, there are two levels of fees payable. EU students from EU countries including Ireland pay a subsidised level of fees for both taught courses and research programmes. Tuition fees for students from outside the EU are not subsidised and are thus somewhat higher than for EU students.

Entry Requirements A BSc Degree in which mathematical physics or an equivalent form a substantial component. For international students whose first language is not English, an English language exam certificate showing IELTS 6.5 (or equivalent) is required.
Comment The Department of Mathematical Physics at Maynooth has a long and distinguished tradition in research. The Department offers high quality education in theoretical physics and the associated mathematics from Higher Diploma to Postdoctoral level and hosts an active community of PhD students and postdoctoral fellows.
Course Content Course Structure
Modules include computational physics, quantum mechanics, mathematical methods, condensed matter theory, astrophysics and cosmology, particle physics, quantum information processing, chaos and nonlinear dynamics, electromagnetic theory and statistical mechanics.
Careers or Further Progression Careers
Graduates gain employment in a wide range of occupations including teaching, actuary, banking, software development telecommunications, research and development in industry and computer modelling/simulation.
