Entry Requirements A candidate seeking admission to the M.Litt must be nominated by an academic eligible to supervise master’s research; typically the nominator will be the proposed Principal Supervisor.
Comment Students develop the skills and competencies to conduct research, and demonstrate these skills and competencies via course work and/or research activity.

Assessment Method Assessment Procedures
The degree of M.Litt will be awarded where the candidate has successfully completed a programme of study of a value between 90-180 credits.

Within this range, students complete a minimum of 90 credits of research activity at master’s level (UCD level 4); and not more than 90 credits of taught modules.

Note: Students may exit with an M.Litt OR may transfer to stage two of a doctoral programme on successful completion of a transfer assessment.
