Hide-There are no tuition fees for EU Nationals in St Fanahan's college as all our courses are funded by the Irish Government under the National Development Plan 2007-2013. However all students are required to pay a non-refundable students services fee of €60. While there are no tuition fees students are required to pay examination fees.
Government Registration Fee
There is a government registration fee of €200 (Medical Card holders and those in receipt of Social welfare may be exempt from this charge).
Examination Fees:
QQI exam fees will be indicated to you by the college in February. Fees have been set by QQI as follows:
Component Cert - €20
Full Award - €50
Medical card holders and those in receipt of Social Welfare may be exempt from QQI examination fees but will be required to pay ECDL exam fees where necessary.
As the ECDL is a separate awarding body additional fees apply. Students will need to purchase a skills card and pay for each for the individual modules they sit for exams. Charges depend on the number of modules the student is assessed in.

Hide-Learners following a full time QQI course in St Fanahan's College are entitled to apply for PLC grant aid. To qualify for one of these grants students will be means tested and their final grant award will depend on the distance they need to travel from their place of residence to the college.
Full details of the grant scheme (Student Support Regulations 2013 and the Student Grant Scheme 2013) are available on www.studentfinance.ie. If you are unsure about the conditions set out in the approved institution, you should contact SUSI support desk at support@susi.cdetb.ie or telephone 0761 08 7874.
Back to Education Allowance
The BTEA slows qualifying persons to return to full-time education in approved courses while continuing to get imcome support.
The BTEA allows people in receipt of certain social welfare payments to retain those payments whilst participating in approved full-time courses in further and higher education.
All information in respect of the BTEA is available from the Department of Social Protection at:
http://www.welfare.ie/en/pages/353_Back-to-Education-Allowance.aspx
Since Sept 2010, students entering a new course who are in receipt of the BTEA are no longer eligible for a maintenance grant. Such students can, however, apply under the student grant scheme to have the student contribution charge and any tuition fees payable for the course paid on their behalf.
Social Welfare
Those in receipt of social welfare are advised to contact their local office to discuss their payments, entitlements and eligibility for a further education course.
