Hide-This one year course is ideal for anyone who intends to enter the sports world as a profession. It offers students the opportunity to gain valuable sports coaching awards with the FAI, GAA and Volleyball Association of Ireland. During this course the student will also have an option to enrol on a number of industry based qualifications. It also offers students the opportunity to gain valuable sports coaching awards with the FAI, GAA and Volleyball Association of Ireland.
This course is a one year full time course. A typical week consists of the student being on campus for four days where the theory and practical elements of the course are covered. On the fifth day the student will be based in an industry setting to complete their work experience module. Students will be given extensive training in instruction techniques and are encouraged to seek work placements in gyms or leisure centres to supplement their learning. Students are encouraged to participate in college sports activities which are generally held on Wednesday afternoons. Swimming once per week is based in Ballyfermot leisure centre.

Hide-Course fees range from €300 to €400 depending on the course. The fees cover costs of examination entry and certification fees as well as any course materials and personal equipment to students. The fees also cover a range of other services and activities provided for, or engaged in, by the students such as some trips, cultural and sporting events, accident insurance policy fee and student services fund fee. in addition to this, the Government levy of €200 will also apply for those applicants who do not hold a medical care.
Enrolment Deposit
Students who accept the offer of a place on a course must pay a non-refundable deposit of €50. The balance of the fee must be paid on commencement of each academic year.
External Examination Fees
Students who choose to enter for examinations other than those set by QQI and/or BTEC must pay the appropriate exam fees to the relevant examining authority.

1st Round In March/April, 2nd in Mid-May, Late applicants will be interviewed when the Leaving Certificate Examinations are finished or in early September. |

Applications are welcome from 1st December of the year preceding the course start year.
Interviews are then held at regular intervals from the following March onwards. First round of interviews will take place during March/April. Second round interviews will take place in mid-May. Late applications will be interviewed when the Leaving Certificate Examinations are finished or in early September.

Admittance to the course will depend on an interview based on the candidate's suitability.

Many of our students progress to the Higher National Diplomas that offered at Inchicore College of Further Education.
On successful completion of this course, students can use this certificate to fulfil the entry requirement of having passed a higher level Leaving Certificate subject.
Students may also avail of the Higher education Links Scheme to access courses in many Institutes of Technology. Our Career Guidance department will guide you through the steps involved.
