| Entry Requirements |
Candidates who do not currently work in this area must be prepared to undertake the work experience outlined above. Junior Certificate level is usually required including English, Irish and Math's. All learners must be fluent English speakers. |

Participants must be at least 16 years of age in order to participate in Adult Education Courses. |

The Special Needs Assisting Course aims to:
• Ensure adequate training of the Special Needs Assistant.
• Promote understanding of role of Special Needs Assistant in the classroom.
• Equip the Special Needs Assistant with the necessary skills and knowledge for a rewarding career.
Work Experience: Candidates will have to complete at least 30 hours working with the individuals with Special
Needs under the age of 18 in an educational setting, or similar during the course. This work experience may be of
a paid or voluntary nature.
