Aim:
This course offers an introduction to Sociology and Social Care. It provides students with the basic skills and knowledge required for working in the Social Services e.g. Family/Community Groups, Children's Projects, Voluntary Organisation, Crθches, Pre-schools, Respite Centres, Residential Units. It also caters for those who wish to progress to a Certificate, Degree or Diploma in Social Care, Applied Social Care or Childcare. |

The following participants are exempt from paying this contribution:
Full medical card holders in their own right
Those who are eligible under the student grant scheme.
Those in receipt of a Back to Education Allowance (BTEA).
Those in receipt of a Vocational Training Opportunities Scheme (VTOS) allowance.
This 200 is payable on enrolment.
There is a 60 registration fee which must be paid by all students when they are offered a place on the course in order to secure the place.
There will be charges during the year for stationary, Certified Manual Handling and First Aid Courses.
