Expand+The course is designed to get the will be musician playing quickly and correctly. It incorporates basic music theory and tablature, and also develops aural skills.

Hide-The course is designed to get the will be musician playing quickly and correctly. It incorporates basic music theory and tablature, and also develops aural skills.
Students will be given chord charts and diagrams to aid their progression, as well as song lyrics which include chords and chord changes
Guitar anatomy... String names, how to hold the guitar correctly, where to place thumb and fingers. First few chords and pressure when playing.
CAGED system and strum. What a chord is? How to change from chords and strum at the same time. First song.
More emphasis on CAGED system and the importance of basic chords usage in the majority of songs. Students will be given more songs to practice. Song difficulty will be dependent on their ability.
Introduction to various strum patterns.
Hopefully be able to play one song fully. Moving onto light music theory such as scales.

Introduction into guitar tablature
Finger picking chords, various fingerpicking patterns.
By the end of the course, the musician will hopefully have developed some performance skills and should be able to play the following: chords, melodies, scales, rhythms and fingerpicking patterns at a steady tempo.
