This course will equip students to care for children aged 0-6 years. They will have acquired an understanding of the complexity of early childhood development. Learners will be prepared for a wide range of early education settings and they will be able to work in a variety of roles in the childcare sector. |

Successful candidates receive QQI Level 5 Certificates in Childhood Care & Education. In addition, all students are given the opportunity to obtain Certificates in Occupational First Aid. |

Mature students are very welcome on all courses in O'Fiaich Institute of further Education and the number of mature students is rising steadily. Some mature students are eligible for VTOS scheme (Vocational Training Opportunities Scheme). |

Students of this course can progress to third level courses in Childcare or to the Early Childhood Care and Education Level 6 course in Ó Fiaich Institute.
