Hide-Back To Education Initiative (BTEI)
The BTEI provides part-time Further Education programmes for young people and adults. It aims to give participants an opportunity to combine a return to learning with family, work and other responsibilities. Programmes are offered in partnership with a number of agencies throughout the country on a flexible part-time basis. Classes are offered throughout the year in the morning, afternoons, evenings or weekends. Courses lead to a range of accreditation at levels 1-6 on the NFQ.

Education: Learners do not need any previous formal qualifications
Aptitude: Learners who are ready to take on new tasks, can follow direction and are moving towards independent learning.
Previous Experience: No previous experience required. Learners who wish to progress to employment or further education and training through the attainment of a QQI level 3 major award. |

Hide-The purpose of this award is to enable the learner to develop the relevant knowledge, skill and competence to use a range of information and communication technologies, under direction and with limited autonomy, in familiar situations. It enables the learner to pursue a range of employment opportunities or to progress to further education or training.
Persons in receipt of a DSP payment can retain their payment while completing the course subject to approval by DSP. All applicants must check with their local DSP/Intreo office, that they are eligible to do the course.
Persons in receipt of illness benefit need to apply for an exemption to do the course with their local office that make their payment.
No training allowance is payable for part-time courses.
Following on from an application to do the course, applicants will be sent to LMETB to complete a pre-course assessment. All course offers are subject to numbers and can be withdrawn if there are insufficient numbers to fill a class.
