PAYMENT METHODS
Fees for programmes offered through Flexible Learning differ from programme to programme. Check the details in the handbook. In some cases particular criteria apply in terms of fee payments.
If you wish to pay by cheque, bank draft or postal order, please make payable to Limerick Institute of Technology and submit with your completed registration form to the Department of Flexible Learning.
Payment by credit or debit card is possible at any time during office opening hours either in person or by telephone. If you are registering by post and wish to pay by credit or debit card, simply tick the relevant box and a member of the Flexible Learning team will contact you to take the payment by telephone.
Where fees are being paid by an employer or other third party, a sponsorship agreement must be completed by the student and employer and issued to LIT. Invoices will only be issued to employers/third parties when this is completed.
Payment of programme fees must be received from the employer prior to commencement of the programme. In the event that invoices have not been paid prior to the commencement of a programme, the student will be required to pay the fee and subsequently claim it back from his/her employer.
Please note that for security reasons, we are unable to accept cash payments.
All programme fees must be paid in full before the commencement of a programme, unless otherwise indicated. Receipts will be issued to students or employer/third party upon payment of fees. Students should retain receipts as charges may apply for issuing copies, and in some cases reissuing will not be possible.

Hide-LIT STUDENT CONCESSION FEES
Students registered on full time undergraduate and postgraduate programmes at LIT at the time of registration, may be eligible for a 25% reduction on Flexible Learning programme fees and are also eligible for substantial reductions on the NISO Health & Safety programmes. Students should call to the Department of Flexible Learning for further details.
STAFF CONCESSION PAYMENTS
Under a joint arrangement between the Limerick Institute of Technology and the City of Limerick Vocational Education Committee, a minimum number of places are reserved on some programmes for permanent whole-time staff members free of charge except where there is an external validating body. This is taken into account by each Head of School/Department when deciding whether a programme is viable. However, these places will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis, up to the allocated numbers.
TAX RELIEF ON TUITION FEES
Tax relief is available at the standard rate of income tax for tuition fees paid by or on behalf of students who attend an approved programme of study which must be at least two years in duration. Further information and an application form for tax relief on tuition fees is available from the Revenue Commissioners’ website, www.revenue.ie. A receipt for fees paid must accompany the completed application form.

Hide-Aims
Knowing whether your message is reaching your audience is one of the ultimate metrics of all online content producers. The Web Analytics module explores the process of gathering data from online conversations and then processing those data into structured insights. You get hands-on use of industry tools with the Web Analytics module. Through a series of iterative sessions, you analyze the effectiveness of paid, earned and owned content on web sites and inside social media networks. Viewing these structured insights leads to higher quality business decisions and increased customer retention for brands, businesses and government agencies. You apply quantitative analysis while using tools to systematically identify, extract and analyze social media data (such as likes, shares, tweets, links and lists). You also gain insights through their hands-on experience, helping to better align information and promotion campaigns with business goals and objectives.

Hide-Assessment/Examinations
Weekly Updates. Up to three campaigns will be launched throughout the academic term and students will individually and collaboratively review and revise these while they are active. Each week, major findings will be validated prior to revising campaign content and refining campaign reach. Students earn academic credit for the quality of analysis they provide. Co-authored work. Each week a discussion topic will be explored as students provide their inputs and observations about the direction of on-going campaigns. The business intelligence emerging from these collaborative documents result in academic credit.
