Hide-What could be more dramatic than writing about the events during, as well as after Russian Revolution of 1917? One hundred years later, the course will concentrate on the centenary of this phenomenon, which shocked not only the history, but also the world of arts and literature. At the heart of every revolution is a desire to change a political regime, but the Russian Revolution effected both a political and universal human change. Bunin, Nabokov, Kuprin,Tsvetaeva, Ivanov, Teffi, Serafimovich, Grin - students will learn of the unique power of these writers’ strikingly individual voices. The course promises to be a challenging experience and a journey which will allow students to appreciate the range of themes and experiences expressed through these writers, one of whom is a Nobel Prize winner.
