Hide-The programme aims to provide candidates with professional education and training on the principles and practice of health promotion in the workplace. Improving working practices and health at work for individuals and organisations- small and large- is the cornerstone behind the Specialist Certificate in Workplace Wellness at NUI Galway.
Students will learn about health promotion theory and its application to the promotion of health in the workplace setting. Students will develop skills in health promotion programme development and the implementation of evidence-based interventions. Communication training and facilitation skills are also developed along with creating a business case for health promotion in the workplace.
Who’s Suited to This Course
Students with a Postgraduate Certificate in Health Promotion in Workplace Wellness have the opportunity to move into a health promotion post connected with their existing work or implement changes within organisations as part of a new remit. Graduates will also have many opportunities internationally, as the skills gained would be transferrable and accredited by the IUHPE (International Union for Health Promotion and Education).
