To qualify for entry to the programme an applicant will be required to hold the following:
A Level 6 award or equivalent in a construction related discipline such as Construction Technology, Civil Engineering, or other areas within the Built Environment
OR
Qualified Craft persons/apprentices (FAS/SOLAS) with knowledge, experience and an interest in developing their skills in construction business & innovation. |

Course Content
This course has been designed to enable the development of the business, management and innovation skills required by those working in construction related organisations.
The programme aims to develop the skills required to deliver effective and efficient construction projects in Ireland and an international market place. Students will also develop entrepreneurial and innovation skills and graduates of the programme will be equipped with the knowledge and skills to research and develop opportunities in a changing construction industry at home and abroad, and support the development of modern and innovative construction work practices, products and materials.
Graduates skills and competencies on completion of the programme include: The ability to plan and manage construction related projects including; effective communication; planning and organisation; innovative construction practice; lean construction and construction project team management.
Two modules on the programme are designed to develop Entrepreneurial and Innovation skills as follows: Creativity, Innovation & Teamwork in Semester 1 and Entrepreneurship and Innovation in Semester 2.
Who Should Apply?
Graduates from this programme will be equipped with an optimal skillset to research and develop opportunities in a changing construction industry at home and abroad, and support the development of modern and innovative construction work practices, products and materials. Graduates of this programme should be in a position to obtain employment in the construction sector/industry in technical, supervisory, product development or quality control positions.
The programme is delivered parttime, with both face to face lectures/ workshops and online content (blended delivery) and is designed so that it is suitable for those who are unemployed, those currently employed in the construction industry directly (e.g. building and civil engineering contractors, trades, etc.), or employed in the manufacturing/ production of construction products or materials.
