Course Content

Expand+The programme is offered by the Centre for Irish Cultural Heritage, School of Celtic Studies. It provides an inter-disciplinary evaluation of early Irish cultural history with particular emphasis on archaeological, literary, historical and linguistic...

Subjects Taught The programme is delivered through a combination of lectures, field trips, field seminars, workshops and tutorials. Students take one core module, ID001 Introducing Irish Cultural Heritage and choose a further three optional ones. The certificate can be completed in a single semester or over the full academic year. Please see Course Finder for module options for each semester/year. Students will be required to participate in field trips to sites such as Newgrange, Clonmacnoise, Hill of Tara etc
Careers or Further Progression Students will be equipped with skills applicable to work in the growing tourism and heritage industry, museums, libraries and related workplaces. Students will also be well placed to pursue further studies in the broader humanities area.
