- Once you decide to accept the offer of a place at BFEI, you will be required to pay an Acceptance fee of €40 in order to secure your place.
- There are no tuition fees except for Non EU nationals who are charged a tuition fee of €3,653 determined by the Irish Government. If you are a non-EU National, then you should be in compliance with Irish Visa requirements in advance of applying to BFEI.
- All students are required to pay a Student Services Charge of €150 prior to course commencement.
- A Government PLC Levy of €200 is also payable prior to course commencement. You will be exempt from this levy if you have a Medical Card or are in receipt of a PLC(SUSI) Grant, BTEA or VTOS

The Department of Education and Skills (DES) provides a means-tested maintenance grant scheme for those attending full-time further education courses. You will have to submit an online application to SUSI (Student Universal Support Ireland). See www.susi.ie for further details.
BTEA (Back to Education Allowance)
If you are in receipt of certain social welfare payments, ten under the BTEA you may be able to keep your payments while doing a full-time course at BFEI.

VTOS (Vocational Training and Opportunities Scheme)
If you are unemployed and over 21, then under VTOS, you will be able to do a full-time course at BFEI and retain your social welfare entitlements.
VTOS applies to all courses on offer in the Institute, however, early application is advisable as there are a limited number of places which are allocated on a first-come basis. See www.welfare.ie or www.studentfinance.ie for further details on eligibility or ask at the local Department of Social Protection Office. OTHER FUNDING SOURCES

2. You can apply online at www.bfei.ie (link below)
If you do not have easy access to the internet, then you can drop in to BFEI and make an on-line application using the Institute's facilities.
You should note that if there are more applicants than places for a course, a waiting list will be formed.
3. Once you apply, you will be invited to an Advisory meeting in the Institute. You will get the opportunity to meet staff on the course who will offer guidance to ensure that the course best suits your needs. You will be advised about course costs, and course registration details at the meeting.
4. Places will be offered, on a first-come basis, following the outcome of the Advisory Meeting. In order to secure a place that has been offered to you, you will be required to pay a €40 non-refundable acceptance fee.
5. REGISTRATION, FEES & COURSE COMMENCEMENT
Course registration will take place in late August/early September. Fees, as outlined under Fees and Funding Information, are payable on/before registration.
Courses commence in mid-September.

• Diploma in Spa and Salon Management (UK level 4)
• Diploma in Spa Treatments (UK level 3)
• Diploma in Laser and Intense Pulsed Light (UK level 4)
• Certificate in Advanced Skincare (UK level 4)
• Award in Micropigmentation
Postgraduate CIDESCO Diploma*
* This award is only eligible to Therapists with previous industrial experience.
Will I do anything additional on the course?
• You will get the opportunity to work with clients in live ‘pop-up’ salons within the Institute.
• You will stay up-to-date with all the latest trends and treatments within the industry through relevant workshops.
• Career advice and help with CV preparation is provided by the BFEI Guidance and Career Service.

What do I need to get on the course? • You must have successfully completed Year 2 of Beauty and Body Therapy or hold Facial, Electrical and Body qualifications from CIBTAC, ITEC or equivalent. Applicants with industrial experience may also be considered. You may be eligible for exemptions from some subjects if you already have recognised qualifications. |
| Assessment Method |
Assessment is based on a combination of Evidence of Treatments (Case Studies) and exams which mainly take place in April and May. To achieve the CIDESCO certification, you will be required to undertake a major project. |
