Duration

1 year (September - May). Monday - Friday with usual school holidays.

Course Times: 9:00am to 4:00pm. Class finishes at 1.10pm on Wednesday.

Entry Requirements

Students will be expected to have passed the Leaving Certificate or Leaving Certificate Applied examination (Merit Level) or equivalent.

Places will only be allocated following a successful interview. Interviews will be held in May and August. Applicants will be notified by email or phone.

Careers / Further progression

Educational Progression
Learners typically progress on successful completion of course to a wide variety of business courses at Levels 6/7/8 in various higher education colleges and universities. There is a Career Guidance Counsellor available exclusively for Further Education students who also is timetabled for one class period per week. Students are equipped to enter the workforce directly to work in office/administrative or retail settings.

There will be a €20 administration fee on application. There will be no tuition fees, however there will be a €180 administration (and certification) fee.

All PLC students can apply for a maintenance grant, subject to eligibility for the duration of their course. Students may also be eligible to maintain social welfare payments while doing our PLC courses.

This course provides an introduction to the important areas of business theory and training in the relevant computer practices used in the modern office/business environment. Students may progress for further studies in this area.
