Entry Requirements
• Education: This award is aimed at new entrants e. g. school leavers or for adults looking for a change in career.
• Aptitude: Good analytical skills desirable but not essential.
• Previous Experience: None required

• Learners may progress to industry specific training programmes such as ComPTIA Network + or other hardware specific programmes at QQI level 5 or 6 available within the PLC colleges.

CAREER OPPORTUNITIES
The successful completion of the CompTIA A+ certification enables applicants to source employment at an entry level as CompTIA+ certified technicians covering the installation, maintenance, upgrading of PC workstations, utilising troubleshooting techniques and implementing security practices in the provision of IT support in the workplace.

INTRODUCTION
The aim of this course is to provide learners with knowledge, skills and competencies to install, configure, upgrade, and maintain pc workstations, peripherals and the Windows operating system. Learners will also be able to utilise troubleshooting techniques and implement security practices in the provision of IT support in a small office setting.
