Student Profile
We welcome mature applicants with relevant life work experience or post leaving certificate students who are interested in pursuing a career in maternity nursing. Competence in spoken and written English.

Careers / Further progression
On successful completion of the QQI Maternity Care Support Level 5 (5N3746) Minor Award, learners can combine this with the Healthcare Support or the Nursing Studies Level 5 Major Awards which will qualify them to seek employment in a Hospital or as a Healthcare Assistant for work in a Maternity Care facility.

Assessment Method
A combination of module-appropriate assessment methods will facilitate the assessment of learning outcomes on the course. These methods will include an assignment and a skills demonstration. Work experience does not apply to this course.

Pass 50%- 64% / Merit 65%-79% / Distinction 80%-100%
