ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Education: NFQ Level 4 or equivalent when accessing a Level 5 programme. CERFL proficiency at B2 for access to Level 5 courses for those whose first language is not English Mature learner entry requirements available via the local ETB pathway Additional requirements may apply to non-EU/EEA Applicants and may be subject to full international fees (Please refer to Information for International Learners) *Each provider may have additional requirements, not outlined above.

Aptitude: Applicants must have a motivation to learn, an interest in the subject and the ability to acquire the knowledge, skills and competencies set out in the course.

Previous Experience: Applicants must be able to demonstrate a moderate range of knowledge, skills and competencies relevant to the course, be able to work with responsibility and demonstrate the ability to work on their own initiative.

Careers / Further progression

Upon successful completion of this programme, the learner can progress to level 6 Art or other further and or higher education and training options.

Programme Aim
The overall aim of the programme is to provide the learner with the opportunity to identify, appreciate, and develop skills in the use of materials and techniques and to provide opportunities for creative expression through a variety of media.

This course is run as a fulltime course, learners attend the course on site, do work experience and self-directed work. The level 5 course is a stepping stone between school and college, it is a course for building art and craft portfolios as well as a way of gaining points for college or university. learners have progressed on to Animation courses, arts Degrees, Art College and non-art related studies. Others have formed collectives and continue to exhibit and make their own work. Each year we have an end of year exhibition in The Courthouse Gallery, Ennistymon showcasing the talent and learning of course participants.

We have students aged from 17 to 80! We have school leavers, those looking for a new direction and people who finally have found some time to devote to their creativity.
