INTERNATIONAL APPLICANTS
The college welcomes applications from qualified international applicants. Non-EU learners whose visas do not confer access to publicly funded education may be required to pay a course fee of €3654 for their course if eligible. For further details, please contact the college. Applicants who are in the international protection system and have been granted permission to work are not eligible for the €3654 non-EU fees. Applicants will be required to provide proof of their immigration status (eg. GNIB card, permission to work letter issued by the Department of Justice) as part of the enrolment process.

MATURE STUDENTS
The number of mature students attending Further Education courses in Marino College is increasing each year and at present constitutes a significant proportion of our total numbers. Mature students are very welcome and Learner Supports will pay particular attention to their learning needs.

Mature students are welcome to apply. Formal academic qualifications not required.

HOW WILL I LEARN?
In this Course students will receive a firm theoretical basis for environmental studies from a micro system to macro system. Students will focus on specific ecological and environmental topics, studying plant science, carbon footprints, biodiversity and the natural environment, greenhouse effect of carbon dioxide and Environmental Impact Assessments. You will learn the fundamentals of Green Building Technology.

This Course will focus on “learning by doing”: to include Ecological Field Trips to Bridgefoot Street Park, Ecology Garden, Trinity College,Bull Island & St. Anne’s Park in Dublin 5. Practical sessions will teach students how to assess water quality, study biodiversity, prepare environmental plans, conduct water quality studies of the Tolka, Liffey and Dodder Estuary.

Team working and work experience included. You will have a mixture of classroom-based subjects, laboratory practicals, field work, mandatory work placement and independent study. You will be expected to complete assignments throughout the year. Course work will consist of a combination of onsite & online learning.

Please note the components listed above may vary occasionally.

A full Award is granted on passing the relevant eight components. You will be assessed throughout and at the end of the year (Continuous Assessment). On successful completion of each component, you will be awarded a Pass, a Merit or a Distinction grade.
