Entry Requirements
Students who wish to achieve the full Level 5 Certificate on a part-time basis must successfully complete all mandatory modules & one elective choice.
These modules must also be completed in order for a student to be eligible for Progression to other Teagasc Horticultural Courses.
Careers / Further progression
By taking other Level 5 modules, students may be able to build towards a full award of QQI Certificate in Horticulture.

Time: Tuesdays 9.00am - 3.30pm

The course will be offered over a 15 week period. Students will be required to perform a range of operations that are appropriate to organic crop production, using safe work practices, in Teagasc Ashtown. Skills learned during the course will be assessed regularly.

Source organic input materials
Examine markets and marketing of organic crops
Design an organic crop rotation plan
Compile a production programme for Fruit & Veg
Produce an organic crop from propagation to point of sale.
