Entry Requirements

Education: The training provider is committed, in principle, to the on-going development of arrangements for the recognition of prior learning (RPL).

Aptitude: Participants must be currently employed, and must be or aspire to be, in a supervisory, team leader or middle management role. Applicants seeking entry to the programme must also be capable of completing the programme assessments. They must have achieved a minimum of a NFQ level 5 major award or its equivalent prior to entry to the programme, or have achieved the relevant skills, knowledge and competences through work experience. Participation Selection Criteria As per ETB Operating Guidelines and Skills to Advance Route 3 Criteria. Nominated participants must meet the criteria outlined in the Target Participant Profile and Programme Entry Requirements above.

Learning Outcomes
On completion of this programme, participants will be able to:
1.Explain the key elements that influence the management of remote workers, including the range of remote working practices, contractual and organisational policy considerations, legislative and regulatory requirements, and benefits and disadvantages.
2.Manage and implement change in the workplace, by identifying areas for change and developing a change implementation plan.
3.Evaluate and improve motivation and performance levels in the workplace.
4.Develop and communicate implementation plans for solutions to complex workplace problems by identifying and analysing the problem and applying decision making techniques to determine the most appropriate solution.
5.Produce written documents for defined business purposes that satisfy organisational conventions, meet specified standards and incorporate material such as statistics or visuals.
6.Apply digital skills to engage productively in the use of online communication tools and word processing software, for workplace communications, and learning and assessment purposes.
7.Develop the transversal skills of learning to learn, communication, personal, interpersonal, intrapersonal, leadership and teamworking skills

The aim of this programme is to provide a training that aims to upskill and equip employees who are currently preforming in a supervisory/management role, and those that aspire to such, with enhanced skills to lead and manage their teams effectively.

The ILM Level 4 Award (equates to a QQI Level 6 Qualification) in Leadership and Management is designed for new and aspiring department heads, regional team leaders and other middle managers. This training affords businesses across all sectors, an ILM certified training programme which will equip their supervisory and management staff with the skills and abilities to deal with the challenges and the opportunities, and to sustain and grow their businesses.

This is a pilot initiative, part of the Skills to Advance programme, which has been based on the key business needs of companies in the North West and North East regions, and has been developed by SOLAS and ETBs, working in collaboration with companies and enterprise agencies.

As this course will be delivered online, participants will need to have access to the following:
• Computer/Laptop with webcam
• Strong Internet/Wi-Fi connection
• Basic knowledge of online classrooms like Zoom/Microsoft Teams
