Further Study
This is an employment-oriented course. Students who complete this course are job ready, and the majority of students obtain employment soon after graduating from the course.

However, students can use their QQI Level 5 certification from the Hairdressing (Year 1) course as a pathway to progress to business or management degrees at level 7 or Level 8 through the Higher Education Links Scheme.

Career Opportunities
Professional hairdressers are much sought after throughout the world and there is no limit to the career opportunities in this creative and changing industry. Qualified hairdressers work as junior and senior hair stylists, colour technicians, salon managers, salon co-ordinators and product consultants. They may work as freelance stylists running their own businesses. Employment can be obtained in small businesses covering a wide range of treatments or alternatively in large businesses where there is an opportunity to specialise.
