Business Advanced with English Language Support Business
This course builds on business and English knowledge and skills already attained from a Level 5 related programme. Its broad range of subjects allows students to continue to develop their expertise in the business area as well as further developing their expertise in the English language. Graduates from the course will have upskilled in English as a second language and be in a position to work in a business organisation or move on into an entrepreneurial venture.

Entry Requirements
A full QQI Level 5 award in Business Studies/Administration or other relevant award. It is desirable that you have L5 Spreadsheet Methods successfully completed.

Maintenance Grant (SUSI)
Learners attending full-time Further Education courses may be eligible for a means-tested maintenance grant. Information regarding eligibility and application details is available at www.susi.ie
Students will have Fridays as their allocated work experience day. They are to secure a placement prior to commencement and will be given more information on what is required on commencement.
WORK PLACEMENT / EXPERIENCE
Students will undertake work experience one day per week in a business/administration setting for the duration of the course. Work placement is a highly valued component of the student experience here at the college. An excellent opportunity for you to gain insight into the world of work. Students are encouraged to source their own Work Placement but you will be supported by the Work Placement team should you need assistance to do this.

ADDITIONAL TRAINING / WORKSHOPS
Enterprise event/Guest Speakers – An Enterprise event is held annually with talks and workshops from the LEO (Local Enterprise Office), MTU Rubicon Centre, and local entrepreneurs who share their experience with students about their journey. Throughout the year speakers from business and industry visit the college and share insights about the changing landscape of business and commerce and how best to prepare for the future of work.
Individual support available to build digital skills – Workshops and one-to-one support are offered to students around digital skill development. There is a thorough introduction to our on-line learning platform at the beginning of the academic year, and further support during the year on all aspects of Office 365 and any other packages being used.
English language tutorial support is available during the year.
